Start schedule on wake up/ stop on sleep

Hi,

I'm running my DT80 off an external supply from a vehicle, which is on or off when the vehicle has started or stopped respectively. The power supply is also connected to digital channel 8.

I'm logging schedule A at 1 second intervals while digital input 8 is high. I want DT80 to stop logging (which I have achieved) and go to sleep once the external power source stops (which I've managed to do with an alarm by halting the schedule to enable the sleep).

Now that I've done this, I can't seem to work out how to enable schedule A again. Am I going about this the correct way or do I need to use more alarms as trigger?

Hi Robert,

can you confirm, when you turn the vehicle on, it supplies 12V to DT80, and when external power is supplied you wish to run a schedule (A), and when 12V supply is removed you want DT80 to stop the schedule (A) and sleep?

Pete

Hi Pete,

Yes, the supply is 24V, but I can confirm the rest is correct.

Cheers,
Robert

Good morning Robert,

There are a couple of way to do this:

  1. The Wake pin will wake the DT80 when pulled low. This will require a relay be wired to close when the power is applied.

  2. Being a well behaved RS232 device, DT80 will also wake up when 12 VDC is applied to the CTS pin. You can use the CTS on the serial sensor port for this.

Once the logger is awake you can use a schedule triggered on a change of digital input to start and stop the the other schedules as required.

Cheers,
Roger
