VW error readings

We are in the process of upgrading to the DT85G from the 515/615 GeoLoggers to read VW gages. One nice feature of the older loggers was that an error reading resulted in a value of 99999.9 every time.

It made spotting a bad gage or loose wire easy in a large block of data (we typically monitor 12 ~ 30 gages at a time). DT85G returns random but often reasonable-looking numbers when in fact the reading is an error reading (gage faulty or not connected at all). Is there any way to set DT85G to return all 9's on data errors?

Thanks,
Jon

Good morning jon,

That is a known issue with the DT80G range. The work around is to do a 2 wire resistance measurement and a simple test for open circuit, e.g.:

1*FW(=1CV)
1*R(=2CV)
3CV=1CV*(2CV<100)+99999*(2CV>100)

Cheers,
Roger
