I have a number of DT81's that I have installed in the field logging environmental data. I have purchased a number of DT82E's for installation in the field and have programmed 1 as I did with the DT81's.
The Ethernet IP was enabled and I changed the IP address associated with DT82E from the Link-Local IP address that it possessed to a dedicated IP address. I lost communications as expected, in that I had changed the address from that that the DataLogger software had been defined to.
I was going to redefine the communication path for the DataLogger software when I realized that the Ethernet IP has been disabled. The display panel on the DT82E now showed the Ethernet IP as disabled.
I did hardware reset to regain factory defaults but the Ethernet IP remained disabled even though the factory default is enabled auto-addressing. I am now going to communicate serially through the Serial port and set the profile via this communication path, assuming that it has been reset to the factory default setting of host port to command.
I am interested in why this has happened and why the default settings are not coming back as they are supposed to.
