A file system error would indicate something is not quite right with the internal compact flash memory card. What version of firmware is currently running on these units? Is there enough free room on the internal flash drive to take the firmware files?
One thing you can try is connecting to DT80 with DeTransfer make sure you have backed up your data, program and/ or dEX configuration then send the command FORMAT"B:" DELETEALL this will format the internal drive.
Then try upgrading the firmware.
