I need some help on updating the firmware for DT80.

First of all, my web browser didn't start the moment the logger is connected. The latest flash player was downloaded and didn't start.

Thus, I downloaded the pc based application and the logger can be detected.

I thought of updating the firmware hoping to solve the web browser issue.

Can I check how to update firmware from the pc based dEX?

Hi JS,

Web browser will start if DTUsb is running in the background and detecting a DT connection. So you need to check if DTUsb is running or not. If you can't utilize USB connection, Ethernet would be the other option. Because dEX is based on TCP/IP.

You can't use dEX as an interface to upgrade the firmware, but it might be possible to use it as assistance with the upgrade. First you have to access dataTaker FTP server in order to paste two firmware installer files (loader.s and firmware.bin). Those two files available on USB version of the firmware.

Then after the pasting completed the second step would be opening up dEX command interface and send !bootit to start the firmware upgrade. Please wait for a while until the process is completed.
