datataker DT80 connection problem

Dear all,
We have had problem with our Datataker DT80 since New Year, and we have been trying to fix that for two months now, but unsuccessfully.
So I am writing to you in hope somebody could help us.
The problem have begun when Adobe Flash stopped working on December 31, 2020. Since then, we haven't managed to connect with our logger DT80. We have installed dex 2.0, as it is instructed to do, and upgraded our logger to 9.22 version. When we put one end of the cable in the logger and the other end in computer (we always connect with the logger via usb cable), computer automatically runs web page with AdobeFlash - like it always did. When we open dex 2.0 and enter loggers IP adress, our logger isn't visible (like it is not connected). It is also not visible in DeTransfer window. On the other hand, the logger is visible in computer's device manager and it seems like it is connected.
Thank you all very much in advance,
Yours sincerely,
Laura Bačani

Hi Laura,

If you originally use USB cable then you should be able to see the logger IP address from DTUsb. Please check if DTUsb gave you port 7701 in the command port, if you see that then you will need to use port 81 in dEX 2.0

I read in your email that you get a "heart beating device" message from Development Tools - Console. That usually because dEX 2.0 can see IP address but unable to talk with the port, most likely because incorrect firmware version. dEX 2.0 uses firmware 9.20 or 9.22.

If you have installed the right version of firmware please check again if the installation was done properly. Perhaps the best option is using FTP access to transfer a firmware file (firmware.bin and loader.s) to the logger main directory. Make sure the size is correct between the original files and the transferred files then you can start the upgrade via DeTransfer using !bootit command.

To connect to the logger via DeTransfer please use the same IP address and port 7700.

The firmware files can be found from this link: https://datatakerforum.com/Documents/Firmware/DT80-9229125-usbdisk.zip
