Hi,

I have a DT80. Is it possible to run a Job once by selecting an option from the front panel LCD menu? I have a job that will be scheduled to run every hour but when I am in the field installing the prob I would like to run the job on request to mount the prob at the correct height.

I don't want to stop the configured job from running at the right time and don't need to record the re

I am integrating a wireless module to a DT80, which has a serial connector, and we have integrated a small amount of code to ensure that the wireless device sends back a reading when polled.

However, when sending the command:

1SERIAL("{\er001}%f[1CV]")
The serial return times out, even though the buffer says it has read the correct figure and that there is nothing left in the buffer. If

I am working on a project using a data logger DT80, the project involves getting a thermocouple to sample temperature every second while at the same time to turn on a heater for 15 seconds and then turn it off for 15 minutes.

I have been trying to use an alarm and channel variable. I also would like this program to loop itself. This is my first time using a data taker. I was wondering if som

Hi guys,

I'm quite inexperienced in the dataTaker world. I have a DT80 V8.06. I would like to store data from a Metek USA1 turbulence device on the DT80. The data transfer is performed via RS232.

I'm using a sample frequency of 20 Hz. (= scan interval of 50ms). What "I have" already is this program code:

PS=RS232,57600,N,8,1,SWFC
P28=1
BEGIN "USA_V1"

Hi,

I cannot find anywhere in the DT8x users manual any information regarding the detail of each message sent from a logger in fixed format mode. An advanced communication manual exists for the DT500 but I cannot find any similar information for our DT85-2. e.g.:

DT80 read by SCADA via RS485 polling: I am thinking of having DT80 getting data via RS422 from a multi parameter weather station.

And then having a SCADA interrogating DT80 channel values via RS485 polling. Thus DT80 have to be assigned with a unique RS485 address so the SCADA can differentiate between the DT80 among other devices in the RS485 network. Is this possible?

Hi,

Is there a way to adjust the LCD contrast? One of our units has a very dim display (no contrast) the backlight is working fine and I can just make out the word reset on startup but the display it too weak to read.

Thanks,
Lee

Hi Guys,

I haven't been around for a while as have been working on other projects. But here I am back, and thinking maybe things have moved on over the last couple of years!

I am installing a DT85 (MK1) in a vehicle, and wish to access the data remotely - ideally programming remotely as well, but would happily settle for data only. Mark Fisher @ Grant suggested FTP'ing the csv - which I

I have a number of DT81's that I have installed in the field logging environmental data. I have purchased a number of DT82E's for installation in the field and have programmed 1 as I did with the DT81's.

The Ethernet IP was enabled and I changed the IP address associated with DT82E from the Link-Local IP address that it possessed to a dedicated IP address. I lost communications as expected,

What is the largest internal compact flash card I can put into a DT85 series 2? I tried a 4 GB and it does not boot up.

I saw that and ordered a SSD-C04GI-4300 card. I installed the card according to the instructions, after that the power light comes on , the sample light blinks at about 2 Hz and the display wouldn't come.

I left it like that for a couple hours thinking it may be formatt

Hi,

I have a WXT520 connected to digital channel 7 as an SDI 12 sensor on a DT85. Polling the unit is fine and i get results, but i do not seem to be able to achieve any response even to the most basic commands using SDI12SEND.

Is there a specific parameter or setting that needs attention to allow this? I have tried: 1RELAY=1 // powers the WXT520 SDI12SEND 7 "0I!" Results in nothing I h

We have a CANgate and a DT82E. We connect the both with a serial cable (RS232). We take the protocol ISO14230 with a speed of 500 (for the serial cable connection, we keep the default parameter).

When we download the program, there are some error in the code. We didn't change the code, it is the default code of DeLogger5. What is the problem? Do we change the code of the program? Are there s

We are in the process of upgrading to the DT85G from the 515/615 GeoLoggers to read VW gages. One nice feature of the older loggers was that an error reading resulted in a value of 99999.9 every time.

It made spotting a bad gage or loose wire easy in a large block of data (we typically monitor 12 ~ 30 gages at a time). DT85G returns random but often reasonable-looking numbers when in fact th

We have a DT85 reading temperatures from a Furnace, this has been working fine but a couple of days ago started to record negative readings when idle (i.e. not testing) and during tests.

The good old Hard Reset with a paperclip solved it for a few hours, but then it happened again. Has anyone any idea what could be happening?

The first area I would like some help with is for rainfall with my tipping bucket rain gauge. I would like to have a single schedule where I can record the following:

a date/time stamp with each tip of the bucket
record the total rainfall over a given period of time
Can already do this via code from FAQ page - General Weather Station?
For testing purposes, I will go for a summary every 2 mi

From this forum, I got a tip on using Cybertec 1000 as the GPRS modem to FTP data from DT80. Until now I am very happy with the issue free interfacing.

Now I am looking for a satellite modem to interface with DT80. Anybody interfaced DT80 with satellite modem before? What satellite modem you used?

Advance thanks.

Hi,

I'm using a DT85 for reading HIC stress cells containing 12 strain gauges. Gauges can be temperature compensated afterwards with a separate RTD instead of a dummy gauge.

Two common grounds are available too, thus making three-wire quarter-bridge reading method possible. I'm wondering using just a one single precision bridge completion resistor to read all gauge channels.

Hello!

I have several DT85 loggers installed to working on batteries. They are equipped with SMSX modem and it is powered by the relay. Somehow the logger do not go to sleep mode every now and then, and it runs the battery flat.

I think that the problem is related to the modem that is scheduled to be on ones a week for two hours. However, I am not sure. Problem does not occur all the ti

Hi All,

We have dataTakers DT615 and DT80G. We are trying to connect 1000 ton load cell with these dataTakers. For that we used Bridge channel type with config 15 and span also (like mentioned in manual and video tutorial).

But the readings are not reliable. readings are changing. Not stable. If anyone knew to solve this problem. Please reply to me.

Thank you

We read user manual, under CEM20 reference temperature, Ask to type nREFT. We don't know where to type. There is no detail abou

Hi,

I'm logging schedule A at 1 second intervals while digital input 8 is high. I want DT80 to stop logging (which I have achieved) and go to sleep once the external power source stops (which I've man

Hi,

I have an application where I need to "sniff", and log all MODBUS traffic on RS485 2-wire. The application that DT80 will be used will have one MODBUS Master, and 4 MODBUS Slave Devices.

DT80 will ONLY monitor the link and log the data. The link runs at 9600 baud. The MODBUS Master only will request one register at a time from each slave device. I have tried various different ways o

Hello,

I have the following questions that I have not been able to find answers to in the manual, FAQ, or forum:

When unloading from a DT80(series 2) to an existing file, is the file overwritten or appended?
If appended, is only new data since the last unload added or can the file end up with duplicate records?
Thanks for your help,
Jason

My dataTaker unit battery cannot fully charge. Every time I charge it to 100% and a arrow and NC will come out once I remove the direct power supply, the battery drop to 44% and keep dropping.

I used it to connect to 8 thermocouple wires and the data take every 10s. The battery can last for 2 hour and 15 mins approximately. Yet, sometimes it just last 1 hours. Some might explain to me? How c

I have problems with thermocouples type T on CEM20. The readings are erroneous and might change between -6.0 to 26.8 C between two scans (RA1M) even though that soil temperature is a stable substrate.

I have both tried single ended and differential connection, but neither of them works. I have checked/logged the 1REFT and it is stable. If I use an immediate scan, it seems that the measuremen
