Dear Roger,

For your information, I already setup one system via GSM modem using DT80. this system actually communicate via using Ethernet wireless network.

So every minute, i will get real-time data from every site. My question is, if my network down, can DT80 automatically switch to GSM modem? So I can get the data as usual.

If u have any special command to do that, plz tell me..

Hi,

I have a query to do with my DT80/85 over a wireless network. If for some reason I loose connectivity on my Cisco network, the loggers appear to go to sleep.

When the network connection is re-established I cannot even ping the loggers. If I send a continuous ping, after about 20 minutes, for some reason I can talk to them again.

Can you give me an explanation for this?

I have an array of 10 4-20mA current output pressure sensors connected to a DT80. These are connected to a 20V power supply and wired using the external shunt method.

Unfortunately, my power supply is not maintaining a constant potential, and I was wondering is there any manner in which i can monitor this change to reassure myself of the validity of the collected data??..

I'm trying to calibrate a acceleromter on a DT80, the calibration certificate I have give the following information:

Sensitivity 11.40V/g @80Hz
Bias voltage 5.7 volts
Supply voltage 12V
I currently have it reading on a voltage signal.

Thanks,

Hi,

I'm getting noise of f~ 125kHz and magnitude ~400mV (I've checked it with an oscilloscope) which, as you can imagine is completely drowning out the ~4mV signals from my type K thermocouples when they are at ambient temp.

I have placed the 5V AC power supply in a separate shielded cable - so I know the noise is coming from an external source. So far the only thing that seems to work

Hi Guys,

Is there any easy serial extension for DT80? Need to put in 3 serial ports, SDI12 cannot do for the 3 sensors. Any alternative datataker model that can accept 3 serial input? Not that expensive ones

Advance thanks.

If DT80 is to be installed inside an explosion proof box as the system is to be used in a hazardous zone 1 area, do we need to install zener type intrinsically safe barrier like this? http://www.process-controls.com/MTL/mtl_intrinsic_Barriers.html

Have a lot of other users done this? What is the most popular IS barrier brand used for DT80?

Advance thanks.

Hi Roger,

I find that when you load new programs into a DT80/85 as a reset job the logger does not like the changes, even a minor ones.

I keep getting old data errors and invalid profile errors. It's driving me nuts. I keep having to upgrade the firmware. This time even that's not working. Here is the program I'm using and below that is a cut and past of what is coming up in the view er

We use a Wheatstone bridge to measure resistance change(expected resistance change is 0.11 Ohm). Our sensor is an isonel-coated platinum wire which has 15 cm length and 25 micrometer diameter.

The sensor is also an heater. We expect to measure an imbalance within the range of 1 mV. Is it possible to measure such quantities with DT80? I also want a "to do list" for decreasing noise.

I have written an OpenVMS socket based communication package to interface with our proprietary database and have observed behavior that I would like clarified if possible.

After connecting to the DT81 and sending an unload request for data from a 1 minute schedule's most current data (details omitted), I then read my socket and found "host computer return data" that continued to be sent for

Dear Roger,

I have several questions about DT85G:

We use DT515, are the softwares (Delogger 4 Pro) the same? (we use DT515 & DT85G with the same software)
Which CEM is adapted with DT85G?
Is it possible that we control and program the DT85G via network from control unit that is placed in other city?
Thanks a lot for your attention to this matter.

I have been trying to connect a serial sensor(Gill 3D ultrasonic anemometer) in the host port. I changed the profile settings in the host port: BPS-57600; Data bits-8; Flow-None; Function-Serial; Parity-None;Stop Bits-1

Have following values in the SERSEN Port: BPS-57600 (changed from default); Data bits-8; Flow-None; Function-Serial; Mode-RS232; Parity-None; Stop Bits-1. Pressed OK the data

I am using a DT80 that was previously used for other monitoring program. The DT80 has a job every time it resets. I want to get rid of it. Should i try factory defaults or is there any other provisions to clear it from the memory?

Hi Roger,

Thank you for a detailed email, I greatly appreciate your help. I am sampling at high speeds i.e. 10 Hz, will there be a technical problem or breakdown if the relay triggers too rapidly for a long term monitoring say a 1 year.

Dear sirs,

About DT85G LVDT I have these questions:

What kind(type) of LVDT, supports with DT85G?
How can we connect LVDT to the system?
How can system excite the LVDT?
What is the range of LVDT input of the DT85G?
Thanks for your attention to this matter

I realize this probably isn't the correct forum to ask about Cybertec 1100 but there seems to be a bunch of networking pros here with some experience with Cybertec 1100, so here goes.

I am trying to make wireless dial in a Cybertec 1100 using hyperterminal with TCP/IP. Since wireless IP address are quite expensive over here, I will use dynamic IP with DDNS on the modem.

Hi!

I'm periklis a new member to your forum. Firstly I have a problem with the communication between DT80 and my modem. The idea is to try take examples from the sensor which is connected to DT80 through a modem.

This is a sketchy diagram about what i want to do (sensor{connected to sensor serial port > dt80 >modem(mc35i){connected to host port} and communicate with mc35i modem).

Hi,

I was trying to connect a cup anemometer NRG#200 to the DT80. But could not succeed. It has 3 outlets: power, signal and ground.

I used the DT80 as a power supply to the NRG#200, I used the green outlet on the side of the datataker (it was around 20V) (the NRG#200 operates from 5V to 24V).

I connected the +ve terminal from the green outlet to the supply of the cup, -ve terminal

Hi,

I am not good at doing the text versions of the program. I want to write a program for 2 units of gill ultrasonic windmaster anemometer, both of them will be using the serial ports.

For one of the ports I can see there is provision on the front panel and the second one as suggested by the manual host ports can be used. My question is with the program builder how do I do this?

Hi all,

I am new at using DT80 and I have a question already. In one of our projects we are using a GPS/GSM modem connected to the RS232 port. What I would to do is get the GPS location and combine it with the information I am getting from the other ports and then send the whole thing via the GSM.

There is an AT command that I can send to the modem in order to get the GPS location of th

Dear Sirs!

I'd like to measure discharge curves of 48V telecom batteries. Each of batteries have two parallel strings and each of strings have eight 6V or four 12V accu blocks.

I will measure also temperatures of the batteries with LM 35 sensors and currents of each branches with external shunt resistors. I'd like to use independent (unshared) inputs of DT 85 Series 2.

I finally got it to work, log, record, etc. Then I built a new program and re-downloaded and the DT80 is saying no current job again. I notice that from 1 prog

Hi there,

First post, so if i'm in the wrong place, shout! I have a DT80/2 which i'm integrating into a system for a client. The system will monitor several thermistors, and control visual alarm outputs through a PCB relay board I have had printed.

The monitoring is every 1 minute on job schedule A. Every 5 minutes, i want to upload recorded data to an external FTP server, which will ha
