Hi Roger,

I was trying to do some measurements at 20ms Sample Rate using one VNC channel and the FAST modifier. In theory the Datataker should be able to cope with that, but what I find is that about each 20 measurements or so it skips 100ms of measurements.

I think this is probably because the dataTaker is busy with the communications since I am using the /R switch to send the results

Should the shields of grounded thermocouples be connected at the thermowell side and not at the logger side? I know that the shield should only be grounded at one end. The signal ground of the thermocouples should be connected at the logger end only. Is this correct? Thank you for your help and time.

I am trying to find whether the Green light on the physical Ethernet port comes on when the Ethernet cable is plugged in the Dt800 logger? Also if it stays on? I have used the profile commands to set up the static IP address!

Hi, Roger,

Another little "drama" in my uneventful life! Could you explain how DT800 reads and calculates TRF (pulse width)? Is it done within a single Schedule read? What schedule trigger should I use with this function?

I am using TRF in my measurements using as a trigger "Trigger on Events" - trigger on raising and falling transition. While this works, I get two lines of data for eac

Hi,

I am having a problem upgrading the DT800 to the latest firmware (4.10.0001).

Whenever I load 4100001.dxf file with the Upgrade Firmware with DeTransfer, or allow DeLogger to try the upgrade, the file appears to be sent but it gets to EXECUTING... * and just hangs. I note the current firmware on the DT800 is 3.99.0002 BETA.

Any ideas?

I have four DT800s logging data on 15 minute intervals at a remote location. One logger has been locking up intermittently (stops logging, does not communicate).

Only way to reestablish communications has been by doing a hardware singlepush reset. After reset, the job is still okay but not running and data logging has stopped sometime previously. The event log shows nothing.

Hi,

My DT800 is logging battery voltage at input 1 (1V). I am trying to use the DT800 with a GSM modem to send a text message containing this logged data and the power supply voltage available to DT800.

I have tried to write the code but am finding it rather difficult to come up with something that actually works. Could I request a sample piece of code which will do the above?

I am having trouble making any connection with my dataTaker. It was purchased with a router and mobile communicator that are connected through the Ethernet port.

I assume that there are existing settings on the device, such as an IP address, these i do not know. Is there any way to find out what this information is so that i can ping the dataTaker? Or... how do i set the data taker to commun

Is it possible to log 65,000 data sample in burst mode at 100 kHz? If yes what are the configurations to be set by the user?

If not what is the maximum burst frequency at which I can log 65000 data sample? Is it possible to repeat burst session continuously without any time gap ?

Please answer urgently.

I used to unload data from DT800 ( Compact flash card ) but the data too large (5 sec in 2 month) so I quit unload and try to unload after.

The DeLogger show me the memory card is full but I can't unload the data anyway. I download Deload and try to unload the data again, but it show me the message "no data was found to unload for the selected data Taker schedules" (I'm already selected).

Hi,

On the DT800, I have attached a rain gauge which produces a pulse for every 0.2mm of rain. Attaching the rain gauge to Counter C1 & logging continuously,

I use up all the internal memory very fast. What should I change in the way the counter/ rain gauge is setup to use less memory? Going at this rate even a sizable ext memory card will not be enough for logging rainfall data for

Hi everyone,

I have used the DT800 on a remote site to log 15 channels (mv) for 2 separate periods of 1 month each.I used an external 12v battery and the logging frequency was every half an hour. No default parameters were changed for the DT800.

I had a problem with the second period when the DT800 logged for 2 days and then the batteries were flat. This is different as the first monthl

I am having problem connecting my OLD laptop to DT800. The problem started since I have updated the DT800 firmware to the latest version. I have two laptops used with the logger. The old one uses Win98 OS and DeLogger version 4.2.10.1. It uses Serial Port for connecting.

I get message something about unable to determine baud rate. The other new laptop works with XP Home OS an

Hi,

I am using DT800 with DeLogger Ver 4.0.3.2 and Firmware Ver 800 4.10.0001. I.E. the latest updates. I am trying to count pulses every 2 seconds by reading state of a counter and recording it in 1CV for further processing.

I need the counter to reset after every read. The problem is that once I program the counter to reset, I get no readings from it. My pulse cct should be OK for I c

We are attempting to read temperature values using type K thermocouples and the DT800 is returning 99999.9 for every temperature value. By searching forum messages we discovered this indicates an error condition.

The value we should be reading should be between (approx) 20 to 160 degrees F. We attached a meter to the wiring at the end where we plug into the DT800 and we see accurate values s

Dear Sir,

After upgrading firmware from Version 3.16 to 4.10 by DeTransfer program, we have found that there is not any decimal places after test with thermocouple type K and review the result in any Windows or Replay file.

Therefore, Please recommend how to get rid of this problem. Thanks in advance,

Hi all,

I can retrieve the DATA_A.DXD file via ftp however my application requires that this file only contains one line of data (the file will be retrieved every logging cycle, 1/min).

To do this I would like to delete this file after I have retrieved it via ftp. I have tried the ftp delete command however I get an IO error. Is there a way to forcibly delete the file via ftp?

I am using a DT800 connected with Ethernet to a PC. I do use very high sample rate with high channel count in an automated application which generates great amounts of data.

I am speaking of 10+ GB. I am forced to do periodical downloads of data from the DT800 into the controlling PC, but unloading times are extremely high for my needs, even if I split the data unloading.

I'm presently learning to use the instructions on pages 113 to 117 of the DeLogger Manual. I can't get any response from my DT800 when typing the PROFILE Commands like:

PROFILE"PARAMETERS","P11"

I just discovered that you must be in Replay Format in the Text Window to see the response from the DT800. I wanted to let the user o

Hi all,

I have currently have the following setup connected over Ethernet: 4 x DT800s 1 x Laptop running Delogger Pro 4 (+ Detransfer etc).

What I would like to do is save a text file in ASCII format on the laptop every time the dataTakers update (currently 1 min interval). 4 text files is ok if necessary. This text file would then be used as input data for another application.

So to save my batteries life, I want to sent a command to a Digital Output of the DT800, then wait for a couple of seconds to let the sensors stabilize and the log the measurements and g

Hi!

I'm trying to figure out how to use a 1 GB compact Flash with my DT800. After I did a clear and reformat of the Compact Flash Card, when I go in the Status menu, Delogger tells me that there is 524800 kB used and 482160 kB Free.

The bar graph if at 100%. What causes the use of 524800 kB in my compact Flash? Is this just that the DT800 can't handle so much large CF Card?

Thanks

When I do try and run the update it takes a long time to load the dfx file, then it takes hours to send

I had a DT800 running on test for 24hrs measuring two low voltage inputs of approx 2V. The logger was reading the channels at 10Hz. After 23hrs the logger stopped reading the voltage and simply returned readings such as 0.034.

There was no sign of a voltage spike when the readings were downloaded, suggesting it wasn't damaged by too higher voltage. It now measures bridges, thermocouples corr

I am working in a quite complicated application for the DT800 which involves fast measurement schedules altogether with outputting through the digital port and analog voltage output.

Right now I am testing the analog voltage output and normally it works well but after a few digital output commands and analog output commands I use to get the 'expression memory full' error. Is there a

It seems every time we lose AC power to the unit, it stops running the program. When I go back online no program has an asterisk next to it so I have to give the runjob command.

I just checked and both batteries are connected. Right now I have P15=2. Is there an easy way to tell it to stop running when AC power is lost but restart once power is restored?

Hi,

A little confused about the burst mode operation. I would like to know if, when in burst mode and working in default operation, ie Switch B enabled, the DT is able to enter another burst schedule while still downloading the data.

Or, need to wait for it to finish the download first? Also, can several burst be run one after another (as long as the memory is not overwritten, I suppose
