Hi,

I have no problems to access to the DT800 via telnet, sending the DT800 commands. But I can not access to the DT800 File system via ftp. I can logged in (with user:ANONYMOUS, and password:PASSWORD), but nothing else.

I can not neither see nor get the files. In theory, as the user.ini says, the DT800 support ftp communication. I suppose the problem is that I am not sending the correc

We have been testing a DT800 using 3.99.13 beta firmware and have had some problems with losing contact with the logger using Ethernet connection.

Each time this happened we connected serially to the logger and check the status. This worked without problem and we couldn't detect any reason for the Ethernet comms problem.

To restore Ethernet communication we had to reset the logger, SING

Roger,

The analogue output on the DT 800.... how do you control it? Is it possible to perform an operation like: "If the current at channel 1 falls below (say) 12.5mA then increase the analog output current by 10%" (For current read voltage, I would be able to work with either one.)

G'day Roger

Upgraded an 800 to 3.99.007 and noticed there was no information under the serial tab of the status check with the new version of firmware. DeLogger 4 details are version 2 release 15 service pack level 2.

On my DT800 after I use command ?ALL I get alarm details followed by ?? SELF DIAGNOSTIC: "Bad Default" DCOutput.. c 974 I then have trouble with communication to the logger and have to do a hard reset to continue.

I am communicating through the ethernet port and have a GSM modem connected to the serial port. I am using Delogger. What can cause this error.

I am conducting a series of tests where I need to reset the cumulative counters for the start of the next test. So far, the only way I have been able to reset the counters is by Hard Reset (Reboot) of the data logger.

There must be a better way. Ticking the resetting option in the counter panel does not provide the correct data.

Hello everyone,

Is there any word on when the Labview Drivers will be available? I'm about to start a new Labview project with a DT800 and I will need drivers. It will save me a lot of work if I don't have to write my own.

Thanks.

I have two schedules running; one at 40 ms and one at 1 s. I need to align the data output from both schedules for comparison. Any suggestions on how this can be accomplished easily?

At present the data for the 1 s schedule is tagged on after the 40 ms schedule which presents a lot of additional work. I have tried using both the replay files and csv files in MS-Excel and not had any success.

Hi,

I seem to be unable to put my DT800 to sleep. When I stop a program (logging) and disconnect from the DT800 it seems to be still acquiring something. It will continue to do this until the internal battery runs out of power.

I am using Delogger 4 Pro. Can anyone help me?

Much Thanks,
Sean

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with reading an 800 from a Mac via Ethernet? We're considering using one a localized measurement point in our lab and are weighing up a few options.

I understand using a terminal emulator can be used on a Mac to DT600, so I'd guess it's a case of using third party software.

Good morning,

I have some difficulties with a DT800. I power it with an external battery (12 Ah). The consumption seems to be abnormal. The battery is empty after 15 days (17 resistance channels every 5 min) logging.

Is there a problem ? I think yes. The sleep mode is P15=1. Thank you.

I recently collected a large amount of data from an application in which the DT800 did not have continuous input power. I had the program set as the RESET job so that if the internal battery died, it would start collecting data again as soon as power was reapplied.

The logging worked perfectly, however (there is always a however!), when uploading the data the logger had a problem at the brea

I am using two DT800's one with the beta firmware and one with V 3.16, when connected via the Ethernet connector after a random period of time the DT800 hangups or goes to sleep.

The only way to get them started up is to disconnect and reconnect the power ( I am using the plug pack input) or push the reset button. Does any one else have this problem or are there still limitations in using th

I am logging 4 channels to a compact flash memory card (64 MB) in Fast mode. After reading through the manuals to optimize speed, I discovered that the unit will not write to compact flash nearly as fast as it writes to internal memory -- I was getting about a factor of 10x slower! Is there anything I can do to speed the logging to compact flash.

I need the extra memory in order to log a lar

Currently, DT800 are not able to excite vibrating wires. I want to buy a new DT and it's difficult for me to choose the DT515 (vs DT800) because of this problem of vibrating wires. In the future, will exist DT800 (or DT815 !) which can excite vibrating wires.

When ??? I would be very interesting.

Thank you.

Hello,

Currently we have several DT800s that we use for data logging, which run at 4 Hz. However, I would like to use the burst feature of the DT800 to record current and voltage characteristics of electric motors and motor controllers.

Ideally, I would like to sample at rates of 1 kHz to 10 kHz for periods of a couple of seconds up to several seconds. I have a couple of questions:

Hello,

I'm trying to figure out how to do the following with the DT800. Basically I need to log the time since an alarm has occurred. I need at least a resolution of 0.01 seconds.

I thought maybe I could assign the time since midnight in a CV when the alarm happens, and then when scheduled, report the current time minus the CV. Thanks for any help! Mark

How can we define an alarm value for a channel en update it without having to "unload" the DT800 first or deleting it's stored data. For example: A thermocouple channel with a high alarm value of 30 exists and I would like to change that value to 40... There must be a way to change alarm values without reprogramming the DT800 isn't it?

I mean how can I change that value without having to unl

Has anyone tested the DT800 with different sizes of CF cards? I have tried it with Generic 64MB CF cards from my camera and a PCMCIA adapter with no problems, this arrangement provides comonality with digital camera cards and they are much cheaper than dedicated PCMCIA FLASH CARDS.

I have heard that the DT800 has problems with some types of larger cards. Has anyone used CF Cards and adapters

The delay option on the DSO command does not work according to the manual: using 1DSO(5000)=1 1TK 1DSO=0 produces the same result as 1DSO=1 1TK 1DSO=0, that is, only a short pulse on the output.

If I use 1DSO(5000,R)=1 I get the 5 sec delay. The output also seem to be inverted; DSO=0 activates the output (drain), according to the manual it should be DSO=1.

It takes several seconds (> 5 sec) for the DT800 to start to respond to a U<schedule>(start, end) command. During this time no new logs are stored! This is a very big problem for us, since we can't afford loosing any data.

The answer from a simple U command is faster, but we can't use that for several reasons (amount of data returned, we must sometime retrieve data from old jobs). Is

Hi I need to connect strain gages to DT 800. Using the configuration presented at fig. 125 of the user manual (4 wire BGV input in one channel) it was impossible to balance the bridge. The command RA1S 1BGV(4W) did not result on a stable 5V excitation. In fact, voltage did oscillate between 0 and 3,33 V.

Anything ideas? Thanks in advance, VM John

Hello!

I need your assistance for a problem that i have.
My DT500 that does not run the schedules. To demonstrate I made a simple program For example:

; D
; RA5S
; T
; 1CV
; END
RESET

DT500 Respond:

DataTaker 0 Version 7:14
Initializing ... Done.

Date 18/06/2015

This should show in Detransfer every 5 seconds the current hour and the 1CV. But

Hi,

I have a question regarding how to unload logged data to a csv file by entering a text command.

I entered the command U to unload data. However, I'm not sure where the unloaded data is saved. Is there any way I can define the file destination along with the command U in the text command view? I'm using Delogger 4 v4.

I have run the test for the dataTaker DT 600 as the thermocouple connected was showing a value of -0.6 in the Form view with the internal temperature showing a steady -1.1.
I thought this would be in degrees.

Does this mean the Datataker needs to be calibrated?
Or is it OK and I am doing something I shouldn't?

The test results are -

Hi

I'm using a DT50 to measure the stage height in a flume and calculate the flow rate in order to mtrigger water samples based on discharge.

I'm using a second order polynomial x = 0.36375y + 0.000965y^2.

I've entered the coeficients as follows:

Y11=0,0.36375,0.000965"L/Sec"

The level data is stored in 7CV and the flowrate calculated using:

7CV("Flow (l/sec)",Y11,=11CV)
