G'Day,

I have just found a new networking tool called 'Ethernet over mains power'. I'm just wonder if anyone knows if this technology would work with my DT80 datalogger.

Thanks,
Grant

Hello,

Quite a virgin with this so experiencing lots of challenges. We have a DT80 who has to log several items from our TDS100 heatmeters. Connected over RS485, each has its individual address (1 to 4) and comms over Modbus protocol. TDS uses Modbus RTU where the DT is set as Modbus master (or slave?). The TDS do see the DT80, they respond to 1MODBUS (AD3) etc but we cannot seem to get the r

Hello!

I have some questions about this topic!

I know that when power fails, internal battery fails and lithium battery fails, the clock/calendar is reset to 1989, and loses some memory settings. My question is which ones?

I Know that in DT800 it loses is mains frequency P11, date format P31 and time format P39. I do not know if it is the same in the DT80.

I have firmware 9.14.

I am using the dEX configurator with dataTaker DT80M firmware version 9.08.

I want to create and configure more than a job with the dEX option "configure the logger".
When I select configure the logger the dEX creates a new job called "CONFIG" and if I save it, it overwrites the previous job i had configured and saved which has different schedules and channels.

My question is if there

Hi all. I have just upgraded to version 9.16 firmware and discover that comms on SERSEN port to modbus has stopped. Has any one else come across this?

Has something changed in the background that i am unaware of, an unset parameter or switch maybe

Hi,

I've got a situation with my dataTaker program. I'm using the DataTaker to store the values of holes being dug into the ground. I've programmed it to unload data into a .csv file every time a hole is dug, with the file name being the coordinate of the holes. So, I would have files such as XX1YY1.csv, XX2YY1.csv, etc. being created in the 'b:\' drive. I'm able to access it using the FTP se

Hi,
I'm trying to convert one of the serial command to the data taker command.
Kindly advise if my translation command is wrong.

Serial Command is :-
AT+CMGS=<+60174365685><CR><message><CTRL-Z>

If convert it to data taker command, it should be :-
2SERIAL("{AT+CMGS=+60174365685^M}{TESTING^Z}")

Is it correct ?

Hi,

we have an DT80 in the outback. 2 times in 3 month we had an failure (see subject). The logger send normally every day data to ftp-server and weekly an email without problems. Firmware is 9.18.6291. Have anyone the same problem or a suggestion? After re-input via keyboard the communication works again or we restarting the system.

Thanks Volker

I've found when opening files from logger that some fields appear to have reset to default such as:

the time i had set to trigger an ftp upload resets to 00:00

the drop down box beside the Send type changes from "immediately via modem" to Ethernet, I've noticed this also happens just by changing tabs

also when viewing the csv created by the logger there is a column titled TZ w

I'm new to DataTaker programming and need some help with the AND operator:
The next line gives me an error and I can not figure out why:

Just testing to expressions and if result of both is "1": set 600CV to 1 and execute XB.

Have a question regarding logged data.
If I look at the csv file then it seems that sometimes data is shown with different numbers of digits in the same column while the real value does not change.

Please have a look at the attached document. For example the MS Battery Voltage column. Sometimes the data is shown with 5 digits then with 8 digits. While the sampled real value does

Hi there,

it is possible to send the event- and error logs per Email, triggered by a regular job schedule? Our system sends the measurement data on a regular basis via email, and it would be nice to have the logs available, too, in case something brakes. As far as I understood from the manual, the COPY command can only upload to an ftp server. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks for your

Hi,
I need to use DT80M in area where there is no 3G coverage. At a similar location, we are using DT80 with external GSM modem connected to host port and using dial up connection to save the data remotely. Can we use the same approach with DT80M?

The SIM card also without GPRS service. It has only voice number and data dial up number.

We have DT85 and recently bought a DT80M.

Although, the instrument has not been installed and setup with the weather station bought separately since last 3 months.

Is datataker responsible for the application of the dataloggers or just the sale ?

Moreover, this is disheartening as we were promised end to end support.

What do the others do when the local vendors do not provide/

Hi,

I am using the DT80M for a weather station and I don't want to use the in-built modem.

How to turn the modem off permanently ?

Because it keeps trying to connect, it sends these ghost strings - "SESSION FAILED - sim problem, will retry" error messages and throws off the server that I run downstream.

Kindly let me know how to disable the modem ?

Hi dataTaker Users,

I want to share some information about using google mail server.
As you already know a standard google mail server has SSL encryption so it can't be used on dataTaker.

However there is one mail server that open for port 25 as well as without SSL encryption.
It is aspmx.l.google.com

Use this command

I experience this situation from time to time and there is no documented solution when the DT is operating in a remote monitoring situation.
What is the best and definitive way to prepare the DT to deal with this situation itself if it eventuates?
I want to avoid a hard reset though. That is problematic. Is there a "soft reset" option possible.
