Hi,
Can the internal battery of DT80 be replaced with 12V? I need to run 12V relays and cannot lose them when power goes out (briefly). I do not want to have to connect 12V battery externally, and have internal 6V on DT80.
Could anyone give me some info on setting up this sensor with the DT800?
Pressure Sensor: 24PCDFA6G from Honeywell
Output Voltage: 0 - 330mv
Sensitivity 11mv / PSI
Input Voltage: 10VDC

It also states that the sensors should be excited by constant current of 2mA. I have tried connecting this to th
I have some noise on my 4-20mA sensor and could like to average the data for a longer period of time. For the DT80 i see that i can use the ESn ( Extra samples ) command but i don't find any similar for the DT800.
Are there any similar functions in the DT800 unit?

Hi Again,
I have a flow meter which takes 5 volts and delivers a pulse on its output channel of 22000 pulses per litre, from 37to 917 Hz. I have powered the sensor +5 Vdc from SP, -5 Vdc from SR & GD The output is going into Digital Channel 8.
I have set parameter 47 to 5 volts. The program I am running is:
DT=\d
BEGIN"TEST"
CATTN

Hi,
I have 2 DT800 of which all channels are connected with sensors. I wish to download the data from both DT800 but with one download so I do not have to Integrate 2 sets of data hence have one download with both DT800 data.
What is the best option to achieve this. I had looked at connecting DT800 1 which has 12 PT100 sensors connected, to DT800 2 by the serial channel.
I am famil
Hi,
I hope you can help, I am new and overwhelmed! I have a Maxbotix 7060 ultrasonic sensor that I need to help me measure distance of an object.
The sensor requires a 3 to 5 volt dc source and returns a voltage as a ratio of the voltage in: (Vcc/1024) per cm - so 5V yields ~4.9 mV/cm. I am using an external (fairly stable) 5 Vdc power source and currently have the sensor returning data
I need to connect a Garmin GPS18X to DT800. Wonder if anybody had some experience with it? Chris
Dear Roger,
After reading a lot about scaling, can you please help me to find the solutions for our sensors with scaling factors for the DT800?
pressure sensor output: 0 to 100 mV excitation: 10 VDC gage factor: 1.0 kPa/mV config channel: 1BGV(4w) scaling value to DT800? Polynomial?
Strain gage (I think is full bridge) microstrain/mv: 283.39 at 2.5 Vdc excitation microstrain/mV/V: 708.
Dear Roger,
After doing many experiences with DT800 (I am a newbie with datataker). Now I have connected to DT800: 1 load cell, 1 thermocouple K, and 2 strain gages (full bridge).
I can put it measuring with normal time interval. I read in some tutorials about Burst mode. I need to measure data with normal time interval and sometimes when a car passes on load cell in the road.
So i
Hi,
I have just received a dataTaker and upon connection to the PC, starts making a rather high pitch sound. Not talking about signal noise - an actual audible noise.
I do not currently have a PC Card installed, would that make a difference. I used another dataTaker in the past which did not make the same noise.
Thanks for any help...
Hi,
I am using the datataker to record 10 schedules. I notice the default data output is not very user friendly to bring into excel. The data is of the format:

How can one set the DT800 clock inside of a job? T=1CV and T=1$ both seem to generate the error "Illegal separator(s)". I've tried changing P39, too.
Should this work? Am I doing something wrong? I don't want to use the PC clock to set time, as it jumps around all over the place. In fact I'm trying to use the DT800 to help understand why the PC clock jumps.

This DT800 is just a few months old and we are using it for the first time with thermocouples. Before heating our equipment (everything is very close to 20 C) we see readings on all channels of around 17 C.
Logger REFT body temperature reports as around 20.5 to 21 C. Holding a thermocouple between fingers makes the reported value rise to around 30. These are all Type K.

A "nameless user/owner" connected external power to DT (no internal battery installed) with reverse polarity. Some strange things must have "occurred" and now I have been asked to see if I can work out what is wrong with the logger!!!!
I see no power to 12 V serial O/P so, basically I assume the power supply has been damaged. Hard to troubleshoot without cct diags etc.
Thus, my question
Is there any possibility to get the real time scan data in the hyper terminal? If possible then please let me know the procedure.

Hello,
I have a humidity sensor with me but I have problems with connection, both to the channel and also the Delogger. I have connected the Yellow (Temperature) to the +, the Brown (Humidity) to the - and the red to the # terminals, which I am not sure am I doing the correct thing.
The power supply that I am using gives 12V of output. At the Delogger, I choose 10V for 'sensor power sup
I have a DT800 which was not used for over a year. Switching it on today using the internal battery everything seemed fine, the IP settings were still set and I was able to access its web front-end via the Ethernet interface.
Thinking that it could probably do with charging I plugged in the DC power supply and all the lights and display instantly went out. Now when I switch it on or do a (pa
Something seems inconsistent between the statistical channel option that calculates standard deviation and the ones that give min and max.
DT800 occasionally delivers standard deviation values of 0 when the min and max values are not equal. This simple program causes most records to represent a sample of about 8 or 9 readings but rarely as little as 2 or 3.
In some of these rare cases t
Hey wassup.
I'm trying to measure frequency from a flow meters. So far I'm just trying to measure the freq from a function generator, I select a square wave of around 400 Hz and +-10V of amplitude and I connect it to channel 3.
I type "RA1s 3F" and the only result I get is -99999.9. I tried changing the threshold as indicated in the manual but I always the that same wrong result. How co
Hi,
I am a complete beginner. I have a flow meter with a 5 Vdc supply requirement, a 0 Vdc return and a signal output. The signal is a square wave 5 volt peak. There are 500 pulses per litre.
For the 5 Vdc power supply I am using sp terminal. set to 5 Volt in p47. For the 0 volts I using the sr terminal. For the signal I am using the + terminal on analog channel 2 for example.

My DT800 stopped recording after a few hours and was flickering all its LEDs in a repeating pattern. I think it was consistent with the forum posting "All five LEDs flash", which resolved to a repeating reset due to memory card problems.
I also noticed are that the amount the DT800 4SV channel reports written to the card is -521823.0 (yes, negative). This all seems to point to an incompatibl
I am having problems as well with my DT800 and the internal battery supply. After Fully Charging the Battery the DT800 will only last for around 4-5 hours before voltage drops to below 9.5 V and the system goes to sleep.
The only program running is checking the internal battery voltage and Current once every 1 minute. Full Charge on the Battery reads 13.97V It appears to be drawing around 69
Hi Roger,
We have purchased a DT800 dataTaker and are experiencing difficulty setting up the Ethernet communications on the device. I have followed the Ethernet comm setup procedure in the DT800 manual but fail to see the green led flashing on the Ethernet port of the DT800.
After a triple push reset we notice a solid amber LED light up on Ethernet port. If the Ethernet cable is unplugg
Hello!
We're trying to get this laptop to work with our DT800, and it comes back with the above error. We're trying to connect it wireless, it works on another laptop but I can't figure out why this one laptop doesn't work.
There is no firewall set, and I don't think I have any anti-virus software loaded on it to prevent a connection. Wireless system is working--can connect to the inter
Hi Roger!
Look...in DT500 exist one command for settling period that allows the input signal to stabilize before is measured, that we send the command 7SV.
How can I do this kind of procedure with the DT800? Is that possible? Thanks.
Hi.
I've a doubt, can you help me? I'm using DT800 with 128 MB memory card and i can't save the program inside the memory card. There is anything that i can make to save not only data but the program inside the memory card too?
Thanks
I can't get connection to my DT800 using Ethernet. In profile I've set the static IP for logger gateway and so on (when that is done a message of resetting logger appears, and the logger resets).
I can ping the logger but when i connect via Ethernet. I don't remember the words but in the log i get a message like "connection was force rejected" or something. Just wondering what IP is set unde
Hi,
I'm having some problems with my DT800, because in the laboratory I worked and I made some tests with it and everything is fine.
"TEST" command said "PASS" and everything, no problems at all, but when I place it on a structure (a train bridge), that I'm monitoring, and I send the program, the DT800 shut down, death, all lights gone, and I can't connect it anymore, don't respond.
When I run the following burst schedule it doesn't trigger.
RA;BURST(2000,4000,LEVEL,50,0S) LOGONA GA
1VNC(S2,"Starting current",LEVEL>720,GL5V)
2VNC(S1,"Capacitor Voltage",GL5V)
If I remove the 2VNC line it works. What's going on? Do I need to specify a LEVEL in the 2 VNC line?
Thank you in advance.
Hi,
Long time no hear (or write)! I have a relay that I want to drive from Digital Channel 1, operated by an ALARM. Voltage level on the channel switches between 3.6 and 0v (approx).
Can I connect the relay coil directly between dig Ch 1 and Gnd? I am a bit confused reading the manual.
