Hi,

A few questions from a newbie regarding wind speed measurement. I have an ac generator wind sensor (RM Young) which gives only a few mV at low speed rising to several volts at high speed.

The frequency is the component read and I am seeing inconsistent results from a steady wind stream supplying a test bench sensor at around 4 knots. I see very steady results when connected to a com

Hello,

Firstly I would like to say that the in-built web server and CLI over TCP is a very good feature on the DT80, very handy when you have a DT80 at a location where the use of RS232 or USB is not possible, and the use of a telephony solution is not one which is cost-effective.

I was inquiring as to whether the DT80 has any sort of SNMP communications available over the Ethernet conn

Dear Sir,

We have some question about to operate DT80:

About the arithmetic operation. except for the expressions mentioned in the manuals, like some functions ABS(), Sn()... may we realize some more complex functions, for example: co variance?

About communications. we need some more flexible ways. We want some programmable module functions about RS232/485 communications. For exam

Hello,

I'm trying to connect to the DT80 via GPRS using two Wavecom Fastrack M1306B modems. I can dial out via Delogger or Detransfer to a mobile phone but can't seem to connect to the logger. Has anyone been able to configure these modems to work with the DT80?

I want to use the relay to connect a serial data line to the DT80 at the start of a schedule and switch it off at the end of the schedule eg.: 1RELAY=1 1SERIAL(...,W) 1RELAY=0.

The purpose is to prevent waking up the DT80 by serial data between the scans every 5 minute. It seems that the W channel option (no logging) is not allowed for 1RELAY, so how do I prevent the 2 1RELAY channels in the

I'm getting the ATTN light flicker & the following message on the DT80 when I apply the needed power. "DT80 RESTARTED - POWER LOSS".

Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi Roger,

Have you used the DT80 with any GPS instruments yet? If so were you able to extract the Time stamp for clock correction on the logger. I know the loggers clock is already very accurate but it's more to synchronize a network that may have been set up using different laptops with different times set on them.

Thanks,
Chris

I am sorry if the question appears too newbie... With MODBUS/ RS485 compliance, does it mean that I can configure the following...

Scenario:
SENSORS 3 x load cell with MODBUS re-transmitter 4 x displacement transducer, direct connection 1 x measurement system with serial output, re-transmitted via MODBUS.

Basically, these are my current problems: Load cells are connected to a digita

One of our client is facing problem with DT80. The application is temperature monitoring in Concrete. The client is using K type thermocouple for monitoring temperature.

TEST is showing PASS result but when the thermocouple is connected, the error message is shown on display REF ERROR. What could be the problem?

The DT80 is a great logger. I have a few "wouldn't it be nice if.." ideas. It would be nice if Delogger or a reduced version of it could run as an application ON the DT80.

Then by simply attaching to it, the user would be able to grab logged files (replay or CSV) logged that were created as Delogger ran in the background. This would allow unattended but programmed downloads, dial outs, FTP t

Dear Sir,

Please recommend me further information regarding how to suitably apply DT80 and Delogger4 software as the following questions:

How can we use DBD file to be stored in USB memory stick? The configuration of DBD file will be stored in USB memory stick as following: SN081878--> JOBS-->JOB1--> A--> "My Job name"-->DBD file.
What is the application of DBD file?

What exactly does this mean? Is there a function that you can call on DT80 to through a relay and let power out that port? It says V=up to 30. So it must get its supply from external power source?, if that is disconnected does it power off internal 6V batt?

Thanks

Is there anyway to extend the input ports. So that there is more like 20SE and 10DF inputs. I really like the memory stick capabilities and analog input connectors but I need more inputs.

Hi,

Can the internal battery of DT80 be replaced with 12V? I need to run 12V relays and cannot lose them when power goes out (briefly). I do not want to have to connect 12V battery externally, and have internal 6V on DT80.

Could anyone give me some info on setting up this sensor with the DT800?

Sensitivity 11mv / PSI
Input Voltage: 10VDC

It also states that the sensors should be excited by constant current of 2mA. I have tried connecting this to th

I have some noise on my 4-20mA sensor and could like to average the data for a longer period of time. For the DT80 i see that i can use the ESn ( Extra samples ) command but i don't find any similar for the DT800.

Are there any similar functions in the DT800 unit?

Regards,
Erik

Hi Again,

I have a flow meter which takes 5 volts and delivers a pulse on its output channel of 22000 pulses per litre, from 37to 917 Hz. I have powered the sensor +5 Vdc from SP, -5 Vdc from SR & GD The output is going into Digital Channel 8.

I have set parameter 47 to 5 volts. The program I am running is:

Hi,

I have 2 DT800 of which all channels are connected with sensors. I wish to download the data from both DT800 but with one download so I do not have to Integrate 2 sets of data hence have one download with both DT800 data.

What is the best option to achieve this. I had looked at connecting DT800 1 which has 12 PT100 sensors connected, to DT800 2 by the serial channel.

Hi,

I hope you can help, I am new and overwhelmed! I have a Maxbotix 7060 ultrasonic sensor that I need to help me measure distance of an object.

The sensor requires a 3 to 5 volt dc source and returns a voltage as a ratio of the voltage in: (Vcc/1024) per cm - so 5V yields ~4.9 mV/cm. I am using an external (fairly stable) 5 Vdc power source and currently have the sensor returning data

Dear Roger,

After reading a lot about scaling, can you please help me to find the solutions for our sensors with scaling factors for the DT800?

pressure sensor output: 0 to 100 mV excitation: 10 VDC gage factor: 1.0 kPa/mV config channel: 1BGV(4w) scaling value to DT800? Polynomial?
Strain gage (I think is full bridge) microstrain/mv: 283.39 at 2.5 Vdc excitation microstrain/mV/V: 708.

Dear Roger,

After doing many experiences with DT800 (I am a newbie with datataker). Now I have connected to DT800: 1 load cell, 1 thermocouple K, and 2 strain gages (full bridge).

I can put it measuring with normal time interval. I read in some tutorials about Burst mode. I need to measure data with normal time interval and sometimes when a car passes on load cell in the road.

So i

Hi,

I have just received a dataTaker and upon connection to the PC, starts making a rather high pitch sound. Not talking about signal noise - an actual audible noise.

I do not currently have a PC Card installed, would that make a difference. I used another dataTaker in the past which did not make the same noise.

Thanks for any help...

Hi,

I am using the datataker to record 10 schedules. I notice the default data output is not very user friendly to bring into excel. The data is of the format:

How can one set the DT800 clock inside of a job? T=1CV and T=1$ both seem to generate the error "Illegal separator(s)". I've tried changing P39, too.

Should this work? Am I doing something wrong? I don't want to use the PC clock to set time, as it jumps around all over the place. In fact I'm trying to use the DT800 to help understand why the PC clock jumps.

This DT800 is just a few months old and we are using it for the first time with thermocouples. Before heating our equipment (everything is very close to 20 C) we see readings on all channels of around 17 C.

Logger REFT body temperature reports as around 20.5 to 21 C. Holding a thermocouple between fingers makes the reported value rise to around 30. These are all Type K.

The same dataTak

A "nameless user/owner" connected external power to DT (no internal battery installed) with reverse polarity. Some strange things must have "occurred" and now I have been asked to see if I can work out what is wrong with the logger!!!!

I see no power to 12 V serial O/P so, basically I assume the power supply has been damaged. Hard to troubleshoot without cct diags etc.

Thus, my question
