Hi! Noob here. I'm using my DT80 for simple temperature measurements, succesfully getting two simultaneous signals in ports 1 & 2. My issue is that I want to trigger logging schedules, i.e. by having a circuit in the upper left block (the 1D 2D...GND block) that will start the logging. How would i code this in the interface?

Thanks for any help, and sorry if this is unclear! Not fluent i

When i use the run wizard to set my mains frequency to 60HZ and temperature units to Fahrenheit , I continue to the end where i click on submit. When i collect my data it is in Celsius and when i check logger regional settings i see 50HZ and Celsius. I am using a DT85 with v9.22 firmware.

Hi,
I´m trying to send via serial a variable inside CV, also this I´m trying to send the timestamp.
How is the syntax to send the content of the variable via serial?
I tryed these:
1SERIAL("\w[500]\e{#001SCK<?(timestamp)>7A\013\010}\m[001SCK<>16]")
1SERIAL("\w[500]\e{#001SCK<?(500cv)>7A\013\010}\m[001SCK<>16]")

RESISTANCE NOT SAME AS MULTI-METER

Hi i have just purchased the series 4 DataTaker DT80 and CEM20 expansion modules.
ill keep it simple and quick, i have been testing with 390 Ohm 1% resister (same resister) and compared it with a multimeter.
results:

CEM20#2 = 394.2 Ohm's
CEM20#1 = 394.0 Ohm's
DataTaker = 391.6 Ohm's
Multi meter = 388.4 Ohm's

Is there something i can d

Hello,
We have furnace controller that uses a type C thermocouple to report temperature. I wanted to use a 4-20ma output from the controller and use it as an input for the datataker and have it convert to temperature. I know the datataker can convert mV to temperature, but what about mA? Is this possible?

Hi, i was trying different schedule triggers and i went from 100T to 50T and to 5T. At this point the data taker command window froze. I rebooted the web based command window and the i did delalljobs.
The data taker restarted and then an error pn the display of the data taker came ok, which is SW exception.
Though it says no current job i can't schedule another one because it says the un

Hello,
I am using a DT82E and I was wondering if there was a way to display/report the loggers internal temperature or tell what it is using as a cold junction compensation temperature for thermocouples. I am looking at the mV output and it must be compensating for the cold junction temperature, but I cannot tell where or how.

Hi all,
I have what I thought was an extraordinarily simple application. I am using a DT85 to record 32 thermocouple measurements at 5 minute intervals. It is so simple I chose to make the configuration file on dEX-2 on the desktop. My problem is, when I save the configuration to the logger it scans and saves just fine but the schedule appears corrupt on dEX-2 (After channel 19, every even-nu

Hello all,

I would like to log data with the faster schedule. I saw on the forum that the faster is 25ms with some special parameters

_"If you have series 3 logger, 100 ms rate is not possible for 3 channels because the fastest rate would be 40 ms per 1 channel. But if you have series 4 logger, you can set 100 ms rate (fastest speed 25 ms/ channel).

Please note to get into the fastest

Hello all,

I am having issues configuring a DataTaker DT82E-4 data logger that connects to a Toshiba GF630 flow meter. The output signal of the flow meter is 4 mA - 20 mA (corresponding flow rate 0 - 650 GPM). The flow meter has three wires: red (positive), white (negative) and green (ground). For wiring configurations, I used C3 - Independent Current Input using Internal Shunt (Red positive

Hi all,

I need some help on updating the firmware for DT80.

First of all, my web browser didn't start the moment the logger is connected. The latest flash player was downloaded and didn't start.

Thus, I downloaded the pc based application and the logger can be detected.

I thought of updating the firmware hoping to solve the web browser issue.

Can I check how to update firmwar

Sleep mode and its handy exceptions of the DT8x series dataloggers works well when using an internal battery. This may not be the case when the hardware setup is more complex with external high capacity batteries, DC converters, additional logic, etc.

It would be useful to use WK input, not only for waking purposes but preventing the logger going to sleep by keeping the input in logical low b

Hi all, I am having an issue with the DT80 series (FW 9.22) in that I am using it as a host device for a number of remote DT80s and I am looking to add 5x more remote devices (2-300 new CVs to bring in) over the 2Modbus commands. The Release Notes (9.18) state that we now have access to 65535 channel variables now of which I now need ~1300 but am experiencing errors in applying this.

Hi,

I have a DT80 datataker attached to several type T thermocouples. My issue is that at some points the thermocouple temperature "jumps". It jumps, then continues at the new temperature for a while, then there is another jump and so on. This occurs even when I am not interacting with my setup.
I have attached a graph showing two jumps, one at around 61 s the other at around 68 s. For ref

Hi, i was using this schedule
RA"US"(DATA:OV:1D)100T 1V(A) 1V(A) 2V(A) 2V(A)
i read in the manual that this 100T means it will trigger every 100ms, so i was expecting that i will get around 10 readings in a second. When i extracted the csv file i did not see more than 3 readings in the same second, so i am not sure this is accurate. Also i was expecting the time stamp to be more exact in t

I want to mention that i have a schedule running and i am not sure if that influences. I was doing the followong logon, then run the schedule, then logoff and then i was able tonread the usb faster, but when i copyed the job, there were no recordings

Hi All,

Inherited a DT85 Series 3 that came hooked up to the rig I'm using (high temperature reactor). It has 4 n-type thermocouples plugged into it and I've run a number of tests so far without any issues.

I have no experience using this hardware so I haven't touched any of it.

Near the end of my last test I just lost signal all of a sudden.
Reading the screen said that I had a 'R

Hi,

We finally release the new version of dEX which is a PC based application and free from flash player.

dEX® 2.0 is a simplified yet powerful software that allows you to configure and program your DT80 series data loggers. This configuration-based software allows you to configure the hardware, visualisation data and also debug your application on all DT80 series of loggers (includi

Hi,

I have a problem.

We have several systems powered by a battery and a solar panel (12v 38Ah, 50W).

The problem is that when the weather is bad, the battery lasts a few days.

How can I make good energy savings?

I try to write a script that will read the sensors on my Datataker DT85G but I run in to problems.
I try to use the command server and connect to the local ip and can see all the commands but when sending commands I get problem.

It works fine is I logg into the Datataker through the web interface. Then I can send commands and receive results. However, if I'm not logged in through the web

Hi all,

I have to use modbus function 0x03 to read values from a probe. But ist seems that the DT80 only supports 0x04. I was able to send the command manually via serial but when I try to read the answer which I can log in a terminal all CV variables stay empty. I tried %1b[CVx] and %1c[CVx] as well but no success. The exact command I used to read the values from serial port is 1SERIAL("%*3b

Hello to all, today i installed my series 1 DT80 in a industrial machine and i am very glad to say it works well.

The data is read-able from the internal network from any computer in the network. Special thanks to Rudy who helps me whith several problems.

I tried Delogger 5 (since dEX is not compatible whith series 1) but it does not work fine, also i need to install the program to each
