Is it possible to connect an external power supply to each channel on a DT80 that is not multiplexed? This would save me having to make up a junction box or run separate wiring. Our sensors have a settling time that is too long to wait for each one.

Hi there,
For some reason, I can connect to the DT85 via dEX-2 but the SCADA can communicate with the dEX-2. Since both the devices are onsite, can someone please tell me if there is a way to restart (like power cycle) the DT85 via Command Line Interface using a command?
Thanks.
Hi dataTaker Users,
As promised, this is the new version of dEX 2.0. It is a few days late due to some unforeseen circumstances.
You can check the user manual, the release notes, and known issues within the software. After you install the software click the Application menu to access those documents.
Please find the installer download link

Hi dataTaker Users,
We will release a new dEX 2.0 version next week. This version has many fixes (check the software release notes and known issues), two new language sets (French and Chinese), and an integrated dEX user manual.
In this topic, I would like to share three technical notes related to dEX 2.0:
dEX Requirements: https://datatakerforum.com/Documents/Resources/TN0062%20-%20
Our current dEX web interface is not compatible to flash player plugin version 30 or newer, thus you will experience slow response on key stroke to the display. We will release the next version of dEX free of flash player, however for a time being you will need to downgrade flash player plugin from your web browser.
Some plugin is bundled with web browser such as Google Chrome, you will need

hello, I'm a layman on datataker, but here in Brazil I've already performed some data collection activities with SGVW in wind tower base foundations with great use. We have now bought another DT80G series4. I need help profiling a concrete sample behavior research test, to create a schedule to read 8 SGVW, namely:
every 30 seconds for 3 hours, then...
every 5 minutes for 3 days, then...

Does anyone have an example of code (of any language) that handles the communication over the serial port to a DataTaker 5XX (or newer). I'm trying to read and process the ASCII data coming back, using a Wago PLC, and then send commands to open the relays when I need to?
Any input much appreciated.

Hello fellow data taker users.
This is my first post, so hopefully I can find some answers to my question.
I have multiple datataker DT85's + CEMs being used for a laboratory.
Since upgrading to the DEX v2.0 software I am currently having numerous issues, the main one being able to quickly view which DT is recording. I currently have to check by using the command function to see if th
Hi all,
we are facing an issue with our datataker DT80 in downloading some saved data of a schedule configured with the previous version of the software. When I enter the explore data window, the software recognises the quantities with the channels but at the momento of downloading all the data, the software stucks. I don't know if it is a problem of not compatible versions or just a matter

Hello,
I'm trying to find out that are the ports in the dtusb hard coded?
I made the datataker more secure by changing the defaults ports (the http 80 ports get too much unwanted traffic) but when connected with usb, I can't get the DEX2 working anymore. I'm afraid that this is caused by dtusb, because it reports the default ports only. I tried to look this from manual. So am I right tha

Hello there,
I need a simple wiring scheme for flowmeter MES 20 to Datataker DT85GM
It should have 3 wires (Pulse, 5-25V positive, and shield).
Do I need external 24V power source and, if needed, how do I connect it?
Many thanks.

We are using a datataker (Model: DT85 GM Series 4)in our lab to take strain gauges reading. We have another datataker (Model: DT85 GM Series 3) also in our lab in use. When we connected the same strain gauge to both datatakers separately, both showed different readings. The DT85 Series 4 showed it in the ‘6000-7000’ range and the DT85 Series 3 showed it in the ‘10000-11000&rsquo

To collect data from a serial device we use manual channels.
There are some problems to realize it with dEX-2:
The available space to enter commands is limited. (We could solve it by splitting it to several channels)
After saving the configuration to a file and reloading it, there are suddenly many blank lines inserted that we did not originally enter. After each save, this seems to double
Hi,
This post will explain how to migrate your existing dEX program written with the flash player version of dEX to dEX 2.0.
If the program (written in the old dEX) already in the logger, dEX 2.0 can convert it straight away if there is no manual channels (i.e.: MODBUS channels) and/ or alarms declaration.
However if you have manual channels and/ or alarm declaration, you will find "d
Hi Facing an Issue with DT82i connectivity.
I was able to connect device and create channels and even sent data using Modbus TCP, but all of sudden the status it is showing is "device is currently offline" in dEX 2.1.18 application and even web interface is not working its just loading.
As in Device LCD screen it was showing message "SW Exception" but after deleting all jobs from the device

Hi,
When using dEX-2 to apply a schedule to our dataloggers, the dataloggers now give the error "SW Exception".
Some times the schedule does no load and there is "no config", sometimes it does load. But we get the error code every time we try to apply the schedule. The dataloggers and dEX 2 were working fine for two weeks but then this issue started. At first it was every second time but
Hi Team,
I have purchased a DataTaker DT82i to communicate with the flow meter and Temp sensor and to send that data to our IOT gateway.
I was able to configure Internal Tags and see that data in web interface using DEX 2.1.18 for Channel creation.
Able to read those Internal tags as well using Modbus TCP/IP, in PC but when I connected Datalogger to IOT gateway the Modbus status was ok b

Hi,
we run the DT80 behind a NAT router and want to access it via FTP. As our FTP client uses passive FTP, the router has IP forwarding for port 21 and port range 1024-5000.
Unfortunately it doesn't work. To see what happens I have set P56=8
Here I could see, that after login the command for passive mode is received, that will be answered by the logger with its internal IP address and a

I am wanting to connect a CanGate to a DT80 series 2 and the literature I have read still points me to using DeLogger instead of Dex2. Does anyone know if you can still use the CanGate and Dex2? Its for a stationary engine to monitor engine output and pump rate.
Is anyone using this combination?
Thanks.
Dear all,
We have had problem with our Datataker DT80 since New Year, and we have been trying to fix that for two months now, but unsuccessfully.
So I am writing to you in hope somebody could help us.
The problem have begun when Adobe Flash stopped working on December 31, 2020. Since then, we haven't managed to connect with our logger DT80. We have installed dex 2.0, as it is instructed
Hi,
I had installed a DT85 series 4, then changed the memory from 128MB to 2GB, and started up the datataker.
After starting up the LCD shifted its messages to the right of the display tell only half of the massege was shown (for example ethernet IP was 192.168.8.100 but 192.168 only appears)
I made a hard reset and "Reset" command, but after the reset the display keeps shifting again
Good Day Everyone,
I am facing problem with applying program to logger since the power always changes from setted 'always' to 'only when taking reading' which causes our equipment to not function accordingly.
We'd like to use the software Desktop dEX in our company, but as we need it to be installed on around 50 clients we're looking for a possibility to automate installation so no user interaction is necessary.
I didn't find anything online regarding this topic and there were no parameters shown when I tried to start the setup from the commandline with /help or /?.
I'm really looking forward to

Hi.
I have recently bought a new DT80W-4 and started using the dEX-2 software for programming and downloading logged data.

The first columns in the csv-file become Timestamp and TZ as expec

I'm trying to get my dEX schedule to switch 1relay on/off every hour. Is there a way to do this via the job builder interface or does it need to be via command line? Either way I can't seem to get it going.
Please help.
Trying to run the Linux version of DEX2.0.
Using the terminal commands, it seems that there is something missing from the source to install DEX2.0.
I'm no expert at Linux but all of the installation methods of the tar.gz file that I have found are not working.
Any input on Linux installation?
